If you do not have any of these two extinguishers, get the phone immediately and ring up the fire department.

It is also wise to remember not to force yourself in using an extinguisher if you are not confident with your skills on operating it. Yes, it is a must that you learn to use a fire extinguisher so that when fires happen, you would know what to do. But if you were not able to do and you are faced with the danger of a fire outbreak, the best thing to do is to alert the fire department and to get out of the burning area as quickly as you can.

  1. When there was a fire that you were able to put out

Even if you have managed to put out that small incipient fire with an extinguisher, it would also be necessary to alert the fire department so the firefighters can check and ensure that no fire reignites.
